I just realized that I've forgotten to update most of my blog followers that I've been playing with a new location for my blog!
This past year, I've been dealing with a lot of spam on my Blogger site (where you're at right now!) I have had to constantly review comments for my blog that didn't have anything to do with what I've been writing about. It was time consuming and Jennihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03874442237811005164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11014004.post-38980236803087776192012-01-07T20:26:00.000-05:002012-01-07T20:26:00.366-05:00Her Love LetterShortly before Christmas, Em got to have a sleepover at Aunt Shell and Aunt Laura's house. She was surprised with a few early Christmas presents while there and got to work right away on them.
Aunt Shell presented us with this picture at Christmas. Em was unprompted and had written this on her own without copying it from anything.
I think I'll keep this one around asJennihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03874442237811005164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11014004.post-26324804943042262182012-01-05T17:00:00.000-05:002012-01-05T17:00:03.000-05:00FashionistaThere are some mornings when Em dresses herself and I just have to grin and shake my head. The Sparrow Fund was started because they do not want anything to be an obstacle in the adoption process. They are committed to see ONE MORE child with a forever family and ONE LESS orphan in the world.

When we did kindergarten screening this past spring, we received a referral to have Em's eyes checked. They told us she was a borderline case and it wouldn't hurt to have her checked out by our family's eye doctor.
I was due for my exam as well so we turned it into a mother-daughter visit.

some tips if you are planning a trip (especially at the end) but this is
mostly for our memory! =)

Mr. Turkey was sent home and our mission was to disguise him so the farmer couldn't find him in time for Thanksgiving. We talked about ideas for disguises and came up something that Emily thought would be really fun.
I worked on wardrobe (under Em's direction)and she worked on set design.

Their kids have stunning eyes that just suck you in. Any guesses who we might have spent the afternoon with?
We took a lot of pictures of their family and ours... and I have a new favorite picture to add to my desk!

Monday night was Trick-or-Treat night in our town.
Em was joined by her cousins, Abby (a horse) and Ben (a gorilla).
Emily was a ballerina -
who wore a winter coat
(because it was cold and rainy all night)
and took a dive at the last turn
on the way onto our very own sidewalk
some tears, a little grass stain, and a scuffed up knee
but nothing a little Jennihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03874442237811005164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11014004.post-54556767862757879982011-11-03T21:31:00.000-04:002011-11-03T21:33:19.079-04:00Emilee
Little Miss went on field trip a couple of weeks ago to Wayne's Country Market. As one of the chaperones pinned the name tag to Emily's jacket, Em proceeded to inform them that her name was spelled wrong. She then corrected them and said her name was spelled "E-M-I-L-E-E". Of course, this raised the curiosity of her teacher(s)!

I was surprised that she was soexcited to get all yucky this year!
But she was a trooper!
And stuck it out until her pumpkin was done! Then she even help me sort out some seedsto roast tomorrow!

We love the Millers. We had so much fun and Emily loved playing the party games and hanging out with friends.
Pre-party: Instructing Daddy on how to make a special card for Megan.
We showed up about an hour late due to other commitments.
There were so many fun games. Em was a bit hesitant to jump

I was leaning in this morning to buckle Em into her booster seat in the car. As I was repositioning the seat belt, she informed me, "Mom, you smell like wipe."
"Wipe?"
"Yeah, you smell like wipe."
Well, you know me and you know exactly where my mind went when she said this. As a friend told me today, she might as well have said, "Mom, you smell like butt."
But(t) she didn't. &Jennihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03874442237811005164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11014004.post-56720003434875132392011-09-25T09:12:00.003-04:002011-09-25T14:01:50.913-04:00I Know It's Wrong...Ok, so I know this is wrong... but it's funny and it will no longer be funny when my child is 15.
Yesterday, I gave Em an orange Powerade.
Yesterday, I was the only one in our house that knew that it was Powerade. After drinking it, all Em knew was that it wasn't kool-aid or juice.
Yesterday, Tom asked Em what she was drinking and when she didn't know the answer, she came into the Jennihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03874442237811005164noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11014004.post-37267447450399841342011-09-24T16:31:00.000-04:002011-09-24T16:31:24.830-04:00Friday was a BIG day!On Monday, Em got to be the Star Student at school. We're still not exactly sure what all that meant, but oh boy, was it exciting! Emily couldn't wait to get to school on Monday morning. She had her backpack on a full half hour before it was time to leave the house.
The rest of the week was pretty exciting, but again, she couldn't wait for Friday to come around because she got Jennihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03874442237811005164noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11014004.post-57985302878583546392011-09-24T15:45:00.004-04:002011-09-24T15:45:59.384-04:00You Can't Hear Me!

Only 13+ years to go!
Em's first few days of school went very well and she was exhausted by the end of the week. She's used to taking naps after lunch and adjusting to her new schedule took a bit of effort. (Her mommy wasn't smart enough to start working ahead of time to get her used to no naps.)
